my friend got his CAI before his exhaust and once vtec kicked in u HEARD the CAI, sweet a$$ sound, but once the exhaust went in, to me it all mixed together for perfect harmony lol. CAI doesnt stand out as before but overall his car sounds WAY better.

Just a question, are these CAI from Injen and AEM, are they california smog-legal? And which is better, the Injen or AEM.

I have AEM CAI, it is street smog legal. People say Injen is better because it gets cooler air. I'm sure that's true but others say it performs like S#$T in the rain. I like the spot where the filter is on AEM's design check the DIY on this site to see it. I'd had no trouble at all in the rain. And I feel a power differnce with AEM. Also the filter is easy to get at when it's time to clean it.

When i put my Injen SRI on i could hear the difference....then i put on my DC header and Magnaflow exhaust and it all mixes together. It sounds great though :-)

Are the CAI pretty easy to install?

misio4 05-05-2002 07:56 PM

Man the sound is cool when the v-tech kicks in. It wasn't hard to install at all. And I didn't have to cut no plastic on the inside of the fender like the directions said to do.:tup::tup::tup::tup:

i think all intakes are the same as long as they have the k&n filters. Piping is all the same, and I dont know why people waste their money on expensive intakes.
