Are these instructions correct for the shift knob? hey, I went to college hills honda and looked at shiftknobs here is the link CollegeHillsHonda shift knob Are these instructions correct at the bottom of the page? how do you "Simply pull down the shifter boot" I cant imagine it, I was trying to unscrew the knob, but I noticed the boot moved as well can anyone shed some light?? thanks! |
I'm sorry, the link is wrong, after clicking on the link, click on INTERIOR --> LEATHER SI SHIFT KNOB and the instructions are at the bottom of the page |
Yep, that's right: There are two retainers holding the boot ring at the 12 and 6 o' clock positions. Simply squeeze both of these and pull down on the ring...voilá, unscrew your old knob. Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, I had to squeeze the ring at both the 3 and 9 o' clock positions to get the retainers to release. |
whoa...see that's the thing..."boot rings" I cant picture that...... and are you actually taking off the "fabric" from the knob itself? I know that the only thing that is holding the fabric is the "knob" and the "thing that is below the knob and fabric" and when you squeezing...what are you squeezing? I wish there were pictures.... |
