Are these instructions correct for the shift knob?
 
hey, I went to college hills honda and looked at shiftknobs

Are these instructions correct at the bottom of the page?

how do you "Simply pull down the shifter boot"

I cant imagine it, I was trying to unscrew the knob, but I noticed the boot moved as well

can anyone shed some light??

I'm sorry, the link is wrong,

after clicking on the link, click on

Yep, that's right:

There are two retainers holding the boot ring at the 12 and 6 o' clock positions. Simply squeeze both of these and pull down on the ring...voilá, unscrew your old knob.

Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, I had to squeeze the ring at both the 3 and 9 o' clock positions to get the retainers to release.

whoa...see that's the thing..."boot rings" I cant picture that......

and are you actually taking off the "fabric" from the knob itself?

I know that the only thing that is holding the fabric is the "knob" and the "thing that is below the knob and fabric"

and when you squeezing...what are you squeezing?
