I have seen that NOS has an octaine boost additive for car and stuff out now, anyone ever use it?

BlueIce2001 04-23-2002 12:26 PM

all u have to do is but Premium and then add some fuel additives
something like 120 octane

My dad used to build oil refineries for Exxon and he swears that higher octance fuel is unsubstantial with day-to-day driving (high performance a bit different.)... Likewise, you really shouldn't have to worry about additives for a long time. It takes a while for the longer-term affects of heat and friction to build-up in the engine and that's what additives (are supposed to) help....

to high of octane does not beifit your car but makes a hotter burn. my friends car had a hard time starting after using NOS racing formula with Nitro methan and MMT

AEMcivic 04-23-2002 05:30 PM

I've used the NOS Octane Boost before. I used the "Offroad" formula because it raises the octane up to 7 points or whatever.
I used that and my usual Chevron Supreme pump gas. The only difference I felt was that my car ran much smoother at high rpms and idle. Or maybe it was just in my head.
