Ordering Cup Kit Tomorrow

I finally found someone that can get the H&R Cup kit, tirerack.com is special ordering it for $684. For those of you who don't know its a matched spring/shock set (NOT coilovers) that lowers 2.0F and 1.7R. Should take 4-6 weeks for delivery. I found they are a good alternative to koni's and ..... springs given the price and the fact that they are new struts and not just inserts in the front. Peace.

Crashoveride 04-17-2002 01:12 PM

Thats what I am going to get next year when I do my suspension. Or something like that.

dacivic 04-17-2002 01:27 PM

please do a review once you get it.

mwwhonda 04-17-2002 01:49 PM

NICE PRICE!

SPEED 04-17-2002 02:09 PM

Dude,
check morepowerracing.com. They can get it too. They quoted around $650 shipped. Not sure, but I know that it was in the 600's. I am doing that this summer actually.

peace.

PimpDave 04-17-2002 02:18 PM

TOOLOWCIVIC 04-17-2002 02:19 PM

RobearRacing 04-17-2002 04:49 PM

You guys get me all excited..:)

I call H&R and the Cup-Kit is NOT out for the 2001 Civic.
I wanted to become a WD for them, and I refused cause no Cup-Kit for the 2001+ Civic.
It is stil in the R&D stages. The rep told me another month or 2.

But, I will be able to get it for you guys. And will stock it at my warehouse. I will post prices oon.

Rob

Intruder 04-17-2002 05:09 PM

hmm, Maybe I'll hold out for Rob then since the time frame is the same, any idea on the price you'll have them for? Peace.

TOOLOWCIVIC 04-17-2002 10:34 PM

I knew they weren't out yet.

3rdcivic 06-18-2002 12:41 PM

Ya just can't always believe what these shops tell ya. It is almost always a really good idea to call up the manufacturer for the truth. So far, Rob @ Tornactive has been the only honest/educated individual that I've dealt with.

Called H&R yesterday to confirm that the H&R Cup Kit will be available later this summer. They are NOT out now.

Lookin' forward to these things, because quite frankly, I'm not impressed with the GC/Koni set-up I've got now!

Rob, please let me know when you can get a hold of these Cup Kits because I'm interested.

I can be emailed at tq_jones@hotmail.com.

Thanks,

Terry

Maverick 06-18-2002 01:34 PM

I'm in for 1 of those 5. Rob, I'll call if you need a deposit. Is this setup better than Koni with my existing Progress springs?

SQCivic 06-18-2002 09:38 PM

Rob, put me down for a set. :)

StreetLevelPerformance 06-18-2002 09:57 PM

thats a weak drop on our cars with our "four by four ass ends". i guess if you had 18's it'd be alright but 17's will look nasty.

SQCivic 06-18-2002 10:03 PM

That's more of a drop than the Eibach Pro-Kit or the Neuspeed Sports and both of those drops look good in my opinion. I have 18's so I'm thinking these will look sweet.

StreetLevelPerformance 06-19-2002 12:37 AM

im thinking the ass end will still be way too high. if you eliminate wheel gap thats half the battle tho. i wouldnt get it cause for another 300 you could get a full coilover system and be done with it.

pdxbiker 06-19-2002 02:06 AM

I wonder if these may be better than the springs and Konis combo. The shop I went to actually recommend me to get these instead of konis but I did not want to wait.

SQCivic 06-19-2002 09:50 AM

I'm thinking this will be a better setup as well since the struts & springs are designed from the ground up to work together, the drop is pretty good, and I've been reading too many negative things about the Koni's lately that have scared me away from using them.

alienmeatsack 06-20-2002 03:39 PM

in about 7 weeks, toolowcivic... according to robert@tornactive

looking forward to it myself.
