intake+rain

hey i have a injen cai in my auto..and i wonder if it is safe without having the AEM bypass valve driving through just regular rain..is that safe?

CivicVTec 04-14-2002 12:30 AM

it's ok...i got my AEM bypass and i cut the pipe and installed...

regular rain is fine. just don't be going through deep water that will submerge the air filter. the bypass is a waste of money for most people IMO

i thought the exact same thing "useless" but when u get a custom piping, u'll feel the hydrolock, i think its a good idea to get one, when i go through any puddles not even that deep i get some problems with my injen cai

"regular" rain is fine to drive but here you would need it. Florida+summer=massive flooding everyday

HOW DO YOU FEEL HYDROLOCK?!?!?

hydrolock occurs when your engine seizes due to water getting in the intake.

NBC, I think what you feel is the initial feeling of your intake being clogged by the water beading off. Think of your cone as your nose, if it has a lil water on it, its tough to breath. but since the cone is exactly that, a cone shape, it still takes in sufficient amounts of air. You just feel the difference in the amounts of air being taken into your engine. Its perfectly normal! dont be so worried, i've read like a million of your posts on this topic and after askin my uncle i now know the reason

Yeah, most people tend to stand up and take notice when their engine completely seizes....
