Fram Sure Drain Installed
 

If you haven't seen the commercials with that one dude flipping over his car to get to the drain plug, then maybe you'll have to go to Fram.com to understand what this product does. Anyway, the size we need is SD-2 (Thread Size) M14 x 1.5. The Fram.com website doesn't have this information. I installed it and compared it to the original drain plug and the size is spot on.

It also comes with a copper drain plug washer which again is spot on with the size of the stock aluminum crush washer. I decided to install that instead of tha aluminum crush washer since you only need to install it once and I think copper might actually be softer than aluminum. I installed it on my sister's car since I change her oil for her. I also bought one for myself and I'll install it when my car has 10,000 miles.

I'll write up a review when I go to change my sister's oil again when her car hits 15,000 miles. All I'll have to do is hook up the hose that comes with the kit and oil should flow through nicely. I'll get to heat up the engine more too since I won't have to worry about scalding myself anymore. Anyway, just thought that I'de share with you guys and let you know that the Fram Sure Drain SD-2 fits our cars.

Oh yeah, I got it at Walmart for $12 and change. Actually my dad paid for it since I change my sister's oil. He let me buy one for myself as well. :tup:

I'll have to check it out. They use these on heavy trucks, but I have heard of the valve kind leaking and even opening by themselves.

Looks solid. I checked it out before I installed it. The connection to the oil pan is just as good as stock if not better. I torqued it down a little more than stock since I'm not going to be taking it off. It also has another cap that screws on. So, it's just like the stock system, except that you take off the little cap by hand and then screw on this little adapter with this pin that "punctures" the seal and allows the oil to flow. It's very well built IMO. I got to put it on my sister's car first and test it out. I'm sure it'll pass the test.

Sweet, Ill check it out. Driving 3,000 miles a month gets me under the car quite often!!
