timcivic 04-07-2002 02:39 PM

i wanted to get a dc intake but don't know if its good ???

01civic911 04-07-2002 02:39 PM

Make sure to search before asking something like this, bc everyone will not answer your question, they will tell you to simply search.

mohawkboom 04-07-2002 02:39 PM

About as much as the search feature will give you.. I'm not giving you a hard time..but thems questions been asked over and over.. Like we all do if you have a Q search first cause it may have been answered many times over again.. If you searched and came up with nuthin..feel free to aska way.

Cheers

but how many hp would that be???

01SOHCcivic 04-07-2002 02:42 PM

around 20 to 50 hp

timcivic 04-07-2002 02:43 PM

i live in canada, would it be good enough just to get the normal intake instead of the cold air one?

timcivic 04-07-2002 02:44 PM

your kidding me??no way i've got a 4dr auto though??

01SOHCcivic 04-07-2002 02:44 PM

Get a hot air ram intake

Spider883 04-07-2002 02:46 PM

hey WTFBjTCH try like 2 to 3 hp. and dont tell the newbies wrong information.

01civic911 04-07-2002 02:47 PM

<< your kidding me??no way i've got a 4dr auto though?? >>

he's screwing with you, youre gonna enjoy it more for the growl it gives you the increase in power. you will get maybe 4-6hp gain max. but psychologically you hear it growling and you think its giving you more than it really is. Do a search, you will see what i mean.

timcivic 04-07-2002 02:48 PM

what is that ...i've never ever heard of that before...???

timcivic 04-07-2002 02:49 PM

ha ha !!!
thanks.....i was like no way man 40 hp for that ......
little hard to believe...

timcivic 04-07-2002 02:51 PM

hey what do u think of the dc tower bar>???

aZnVoYCe 04-07-2002 02:53 PM

"Hot ram intake"

Spider883 04-07-2002 02:53 PM

its a good strut bar. only the dc sport and the neuspeed bar will still allow u to do an intake. so only get those two

timcivic 04-07-2002 02:56 PM

ok thanks for the info....man dc parts are pretty pricey....
but i like the look of it....

timcivic 04-07-2002 02:58 PM

i've never heard of that before....
what does it do ..?

Spider883 04-07-2002 03:00 PM

are u talking about neuspeed?

bobbyd 04-07-2002 03:38 PM

Well the DC intake, header, and exhaust only gave 5 hp

BassmanJP 04-07-2002 03:51 PM

is it worth then to pay like 1500$ and more for 5 HP and some sound ?
you could have just remove the resonator... ;o)

Desi 04-07-2002 03:52 PM

- get that tornado air filter on tv. that thing is the sh*t.

ZZCIVIC 04-07-2002 04:36 PM

Go with AEM, they are one of the best, and really the standard, as far as HP gain, I would suspect it to be around 4-5HP tops. But dont forget one important thing, and that is the sound you get with the CAI, or the SRI, its an awesome sound, and even if it doesnt give you a tremendous amount of HP, you do get a great sounding engine. The CAI (cold air intake) in theory should give you more HP, especially in the hot summer months, the SRI (short ram intake), will pull air from the engine bay, and in the summer won't give you the performance of the CAI.
