help with pricing rims

hey everywhere i go on the internet to some online car sotres and i find some nice 17 inch rims for all in the 600-80 price range. For the last few weeks ive been going, i find rims but they are all like 1200 and up... Whats the problem here??? how come all of them are more expensive for basically the same kind of rim. And if u know any cheap places in south florida to get em please letme know.

Maybe the ones you saw for 600-800 were on sale, and now they aren't. But if you are lookin at chrome rims, then expect to pay more than 800 for a good brand. Here's a couple sites to help you find cheaper wheel and tire packages.

Did I miss something here? Something WRONG with Chrome Rims? I know their heavy as all hell and DEFINITELY not built for racing, but is there something else I should know about?:susp:

The cheapest place I've found is Ebay. Many of the same online stores sell on Ebay because they want to attract all the customers they can.

I've seen Kumho tires for about $300 shipped and 17" rims for about $500 shipped. Sometimes you see rims and tires together for about $600. Personally, I'll buy my rims on Ebay. Oh yeah, save the chrome rims for a street rod. Imports are synonymous with racing style rims. Anything lightweight and good looking.

Oh yeah, please reserve price questions about products for the Parts and Products forum. You'll get more appropriate attention there anyway. Moving to Parts and Products...

Have you checked out the Group Buy Center? YOu have to create an account. That site annoys the crap out of me. You can find some good deals on there if you look around.

For that much I would save the extra money and get racking rims. They take off 25-50 pounds depending on which ones you get. I would get either Spoon, Volks, or Racing heart C5's (~$2500) but you can get spoon for ~$1200 with tires.

You people honestly believe that the extra cost of "racing rims" is worth it? Remember, you drive a Civic, not a twin-turbo supra. Your car isn't made for racing. Accept that fact, our cars are slow.
