sweet but what about the common questoins, engine compartment space?? there just isn't any!

01BlackEM2 03-04-2002 01:14 AM

I'm sure they'll find a way to get a turbo in there... It'll probably take a while for them to come out with one, and when they do it'll probably be really expensive. But at the same time it'll be well worth it.

Speedracer32 03-04-2002 07:17 AM

alrightttt
now that's what i like to see and hear
they better not be pullin our chains

black2k1vtec 03-04-2002 07:54 AM

ya, hopefully its not one of those 92-01 kits.

turbo kits are not impossible for our cars. HKS has the prototype in their car and it works fine. the only reason they are weary of releasing it is because it will cost a lot of money and you won't see very big gains. they are afraid they won't sell very well because of the low gains. turbo kits are possible for our car, but don't expect large gains without modify the fuel system, and as of right now, no one has figured that out.

viciousvolpe 03-04-2002 08:30 AM

well...im sure in 3 yrs they have one out...since thats the soonest i can get one

silvervtec01 03-04-2002 09:12 AM

DAMN!!!!! 3 YEARS!!?!?!?! if i even still have this car, it wont even have the same engine!! i can tell you straight up right now that this engine will be swapped for a different before then!

pounds 03-04-2002 10:10 AM

d@mn it....nothing for the lx??

bambuski 03-04-2002 10:44 AM

Nice, I already have the money saved for a turbo so whoever comes out with one first gets my money.

Booohahaha 03-04-2002 11:33 AM

bah....turbo!!
that means we all have to get new pistons, 1 CAM!!!<---sohc!!!!, etc etc
i want to strengthen the engine to the max!!

upgraded injectors and the greddy e-managment system is what revhard is using to solve fuel problems for the rsx turbo. with these 2 items and a higher flowing pump, i.e. rsx pump, it may solve our fuel problem too. whatcha think?

alltech01civic 03-05-2002 06:32 PM

alot of people underestimate these RevHard turbo kits....they give out a lot of power !!!

StLVtec 03-05-2002 08:54 PM

sweet I wonder how long its gonna be

Jujarso 03-06-2002 12:55 PM

Mmmmm... Turbo. I hope it comes out soon.

If that's what they're doing, then this might be the easiest thing to do. Not going to be that cheap though. New injectors will be $300 - $400 and the RSX fuel pump/FPR/filter package might be another $100 (less if you get it at a junkyard). The Greddy e-Manage will be another $300. The grand total is about $700 and the catch is that:

<< Basic functions will allow the user to slightly alter factory injector duty-cycle(± 20% at 5 preset RPM points), by intercepting and altering airflow or MAP sensor signals. >>

I don't know how much boost pressure this allows for, but it doesn't sound like much.

Niiiiiice! That's tiiiiiight boy!

AlexLx 03-06-2002 08:20 PM

Why just the EX? dang, everyone knows its easier to push F.I. if there is lower compression. :susp:

i.e. 1.8L integra ls vtec (perfect for turbo)

oh well, maybe its compatible and they just don't know yet.

alltech01civic 03-09-2002 10:57 PM

i keep reading all these other threads about HKS turbo kits and some people are saying that some rep from HKS said that they might not make one because of the fuel injector being so small.....and Greddy saying that they have better things to do......all i know is RevHard made it OFFICIAL that their making one for the 7thgen civic.....i just hope soon.....:susp:

moose87 03-10-2002 10:09 AM

Why just the ex? Why not the LX too?

Booohahaha 03-10-2002 10:20 AM

well at least its better than nothing right????
ill take what ever is out there like a scavenger hehehe
TURBO TURBO TURBO!!

2Hondaz 03-10-2002 01:51 PM

The only difference on the exterior of the motor between EX and LX is the exhaust. If you're like me, I'm building my H/E just like an EX anyway. These kits will FIT the LX, just not meant to work with LX exhaust system. When one finally comes out, I'll bolt it on my LX, run a little higher boost than EX's and show ya how it's done.
