Fiber Images Hood Problem

I recently purchased a Fiber Images OEM hood and the fitment is perfect. It's definetly the best thing I've bought for the exterior of my civic.

However, the hood trim piece above the grill doesn't want to fit. Did anyone else have to modify their trim to get it to fit on their hoods?
