nitrous and sulfur ok guys i searched for sulfur and didnt get any previous threads...here we go. a friend of mine has a 89 thunderbird 5.0 V8 with a lot of mods and stuff but he also has nitrous. from various companies that make nitrous and whathave you they say that nitrous is not dangerous it just contains more O2 and thats what adds the boost. and the extra heat is what can cause the damage etc. but i was talking to him a little while ago and he told me that the shop that fills his nitrous bottle says that in the nitrous oxide solutions that they sell for cars there are small amounts of sulfur in the mix to prevent people from buying a 10lb bottle and inhaling it all. i mean i guess its not so far fetched is it? and the sulfur could contribute to excessive engine damage...but for all you nitrous people out there, have you heard this?...is it true? i really have no idea whether it is or not so thats why im asking...thanx |
I know that they do add something to the nitrous oxide to prevent people from getting high, but I have no idea what the add? I think it might be sulfer though since it's so foul. I'm not sure if sulfer is bad fr the engine, but they use sulfer in matches and matches burn. Maybe it's not so bad? |
yes... they add sulfur. its doesn't hurt anything. |
sweet, thanks for the help guys |
There is sulfur in gasoline and most all petroleum based products. |
im not sure for others, but yes, there are SEVERAL additives, you should do some research on it nos is a very complicated thing to do right esp on a daily driver, sulfur is one of the components in a nos bottle, just read the label that'll help. good luck yo. |
