Projector Bulbs

ok i have searched through the fourms and i found nothing about this topic. the black projectors require low beam H3 12v 55w / high beam H1 12v 55w. I want some xenon bulbs from hiper industries but the h3 bulbs draw 85/80W > 130/100W and the h1 bulbs draw 85/80W > 130/100W. Ok heres the question. because the the new bulbs draw more wattage will that melt my projector lights? or is it ok. thanks in advance guys.

i think the packing just says it, i am not sure would it melt or not, but i have the hiper industries h4, and my housing haven't melt yet, but it does get really hot

I have had so many problems with my projector headlights/unit ! I now have my second pair ! When i had my first pair, i bought Xenon super white bulbs (both lows and highs) and one of my low bulbs blew with-in 4 dayz, which isnt normal for brand new bulbs ! So i drove with my highs on for about 20 min. and they melted tha S**T out of my unit ! So now i juss hae tha stock bulbs ! I did change my parking and turn signals, those are fine ! My advice is to stick with no higher than 65 watt bulbs ! Up to you though ! Hop this helped you out a lil' !

projectors dont use H4..they use H3, right?

speedracersong 01-21-2002 08:02 PM

they use h1's and h3's

speedracersong 01-24-2002 11:27 AM

so no one knows for sure if it melts the projetors? cause i spent 300 on em.

I have those same Xenon bulbs for my low and my projectors haven't melted (yet). I do suggest you leave your hi's stock if you plan on driving with your hi's for more than 10mins.

BTW, I had those bulbs for about 4 months now.

I have a black ion projector.

I changed my low beam to Hiper Super Plazma (h1) but the light output is still yellowish..

Question: anyone of you know what brand of bulb produce white light/purple or whatever color as long as its not yellow?!? thanks

hahaha, i'm just looking at my old, (not stock) lights where one of them burnt out. when i look closely, one of the coils in the bulb just snapped right off. anyways, i know that wasn't on this topic, but i wouldn't have remebered by the time i found a topic for it. i'd be willing to bet thought at PIAA makes bulbs that fit the description your projectors ask for.

I just bought a pair of arospeed xenon 80watt bulbs my right bulb blew up i guess and no i have blue class in my projecter lamp and now my projecter lamp has a little foggy look to it. How can i fix my pojecter lamp with out taking it all apart or buying new ones yet?

MyCivic 01-27-2002 04:36 PM

Hey Guy, get H3 bulbs, and go for the brand !! And buy it from the store, not the net. So I paid 75 for my H3 PIAA but if anything happens, I can get another set right awayfrom the store for free

aetobatus 01-27-2002 06:28 PM

hey mycivic, do you actually get white light output instead of yellow? cos mine produce yellow light..
