Other synthetic oils?

Besides Redline oil, Royal Purple and Amsoil, what other 5w20 synthetic oil is out there that won't hurt my wallet. I did a search but it didn't really answer my question. I heard there was a 5w20 Castrol Synthetic oil. Is this true?

There's a synthetic-blend at Walmart called Motorola (I think?). Anyway, it's $1.77 per quart and you need about 4 quarts when you change the oil. Works great! I noticed that it freed up some sluggishness for me.

Great. I'm going to go to Walmart and check for myself. Thanks.

The company is Motorcraft as BAK said. It comes in a red bottle (if that helps you find it). And if you cant find it at Walmart and can spare an extra quarter, the local AutoZone near my school has it for $1.99/quart. Just letting you all know.

Yeah, I found out that it was called motorcraft. Sucks 'cause I already bought Valvoline 5w20 con. oil and I lost the receipt that I would've used to return it. I'll definitely put motorcraft 5w20 syn. oil when I reach 15,000 miles. Thanks.

Are you supposed to put a certain number of miles on your car before you change to synthetic oil? I'm thinking about Castrol. I have just under 9000 miles on my EX.

motorcraft is a SEMI-synthetic blend...

Just don't change the oil the first 5,000 miles. That's supposed to be some kind of specially formulated oil to help break the engine in. I plan on using the synthetic blend for a while. It's cheap, yet it's still partially synthetic so it'll wear better. Plus Honda's original motor oil came out like black coffee when I changed it and Motorcraft came out like dark maple syrup. I think this stuff is cheap and good. After a while I might change to full synthetic. Maybe Mobil 1 5W-30 or 0W-30. Too expensive for now though.
