OEM wing

Does the OEM rear wing do anything in terms of areodynamics????

joe6680 10-28-2004 08:21 PM

On a civic no. Perhaps maybe if a civic could actually get to speeds where the spoiler could be affective then it might help with a little downforce, but as we all know civics are slow and a wing would just be considered rice. Keep it clean.

civicvtec1ps 10-28-2004 08:30 PM

"No"

Changu-San 10-28-2004 09:28 PM

no. your car is fwd, even if it did do something it still wouldnt be very effective.

An OEM wing looks pretty clean IMO.

i think your screen name needs changed to something like 'civicn00b'

blackcivic07 10-29-2004 12:07 PM

of course it does "something". not anything you are gonna notice driving around every day though. i like the spoiler though, i've got one on my car, but who cares what everyone else says man, if you like it, get it, if not don't. it should always as simple as that.

gass03ex 10-29-2004 12:28 PM

You name says 'JDM and Spoon Specalist in Civic's'. How can you be a specialist if you dont even know if a ****ing wing on a civic is functional?

Keet 10-29-2004 12:36 PM

It does do something... adds bit of weight and drag, but makes the air move differently. Is it better? I have no clue. Maybe one day it will save your life.

DodgeNeonSRT-4 10-29-2004 12:53 PM

my stock srt-4 has the famous rainbow wing (108 mph finally has some effect as far as aerodynamics). it took me almost 16 months to trap speeds where it mattered. :hithead:

the civic, haha try for 100+ and you'll need it for braking. good luck trapping that on an EM2 with a D17A2

civictuner 10-29-2004 01:03 PM

im just askin because sometimes i can be wrong

JP375 10-29-2004 01:06 PM

does anyone else enjoy Mr.modify and civictuner's bickering? Cuz I think its pretty hilarious. I have to say, based on civictuners other posts, and the fact that his title is "JDM and Spoon Specialist in Civics" the question about the OEM wing is retarded. This would be fine for an inexperienced noob ,but for someone who claims to know so much, its just ridiculous. Mr. Mod has every reason to think your an idiot.

CuRiOuSfIsH 10-29-2004 04:17 PM

The OEM wing will only slow you down

thrash_273 10-29-2004 09:36 PM

For My Own Opinion, Yes.... Its Design For That Certain Style Of The Vehicle... So Meaning It Has It's Own Use And Purpose. But For My Ride I Dn't Want To Have One..

WannaBFast 10-29-2004 10:38 PM

well it has soem aerodynamic properties, it can help stabilize the car at highway speeds

xX03EXx 10-29-2004 10:45 PM

Civictuner, you have prove to me that you are and will always be a retard. Everything you say is just plain dumb. I only read your posts to crack up. Get a life and quit bothering everyone on this site with your useless threads. You start like 5 a day.
