Duals on A 2k1?

I know its possible for duals to be on a civic, so how do you do it? Do you just go down to an exaust shop and tell them you wan't duals on it? If nebody has duals on their civic, How is it?

You could go to wal-mart. They sell everything else. No, actually that is what you do. It should sound good and it looks cool to.

If you are going strictly for looks, then by all means get a dual exhaust. However, if you are going for performance stay away from it. Someone else in here had an explanation on why duals hurt the performance of our cars. But I'm pretty sure it is about the amount of backpressure and flow and stuff.

AFlyer 12-06-2001 09:38 AM

that's correct. dual exhaust reduces the backpressure drastically, which cuts out the HP cause our cars need backpressure. if you want it for looks, there is an easy way to do it and not lose the HP. i don't remember exactly what it is though so you'll have to search it.

Just like everyone said before....if you are going for looks then by all means go for it!

yet if you want it for performance then your looking at the wrong system.
the reason is because our civics are 4 cylinder engines and need a certain amout of back pressure.
granted, with a dual set up and a couple of performance exhausts you will gain some hp, however, you will also gain quite a bit of weight.

So, in the long run, here is what your looking at. With this system you will gain hp, but, you will lose a massive amount of low end pressure, which will slow you down drastically, also with the added weight you will basically cancel out the extra hp.

this is a pretty basic explination, but it shows you what i mean!
its all your choice, do what you want, either way ill support ya!

You could just run a dummy pipe on the left side, and keep the right pipe as your real exhaust. Would look like a dual exhaust, but you would only have gases coming out the right side, which you will see if it's cold outside, and you wouldn'thave any problems with lost backpressure.

Personaly, i like our cars better with one fat exaust tip coming out of one side.

I think 0100010 has a good suggestion, if you're only after the looks.

Adding a Honda V6 emblem may even fool some guys, hehe.

you can just put two down thier but only have one hooked up. They do make kits for this aplication but I am not really sure if I find it I will post it. Sorry.
Good luck.
