Full Coil-Over System $735 shipped

Hey guys...new to posting in the forum, but been using it alot to get alot of info. Heres sumpin new that might catch a few eyes. I found a set of OBX Spec-R threaded body coil-overs for $735 shipped on http://www.creverything.com/cr-typercoilovers.html. Just wanted to ask what you guys thought about it. It's alot cheaper than buying Konis and Ground Controls, so hoping for alot of interest b/c we maybe could start a group buy for them. Also, can you guys give sum feedback on full coilover systems such as OBX, Tanabe, Progressive, or any other one in comparison to the slip on sleeve ones like Weapon R, Ground control, or Skunks. Want to know about ride quality, reliability, and usual positives and negatives of the different systems between a full threaded body to a slip on sleeve kit.

Does that include shocks and struts and everything or is that just coils. If it is just coils thast is expenseive

It is a full threaded body strut. That means the strut and adjustable perch are a one piece unit. So I guess you can say it comes with the springs and struts. It's a 24 point adjustable system. Oh, and about your question, I'm not a professional about suspension systems, but I thought struts and shocks were the same unit on a car. You can't have both units on a car because each car depends whether it uses struts or shocks as it's dampning system. Thats what I thought...but please, hope some one who knows alot more can come in and correct me, because I'm not in any way close to being a mechanic. I believe the system uses shocks...

PRICES ARE DOWN TO $675

Damian2k1 11-23-2001 05:05 PM

they're for 92-01 civics. Does that seems suspicious to you?

...i dunno...the suspension changed a bit from 00-01 and i'm not sure they would work on a 7th gen civic.....typo?

or correct me if i'm thinking out my ass...

duyaknow 11-23-2001 05:15 PM

i was suspicious too, so I emailed them a week ago. They said it would fit on a Civic 2001. And yeah...I know it's 675, but I said it's 735 shipped. Aite, spread the news and hope we get sum tech pros in hea, so that I can decide with Ground Controls or these.

Oh yeah... I've reading the forum problems and see that alot of people have been getting trouble with their struts blowing out and they rear coil-overs tearing up the urethane for the ground controls. Ground controls cost about 349 then add about 550 for Konis. That's 900 bucks. I rounded down too, so with that 200 bucks we save, we can get that Ingalls camber kit. Trying to organize this in my head, but spread me sum of your ideas.

they have no clue what they are talking about, not for 01'

duyaknow 11-23-2001 07:28 PM

Aite then, if you say so. Guess the offer too good to be true. Might go to JIC full-coil overs for 1100 shipped. I think I saw it in one of the recommended forums or just maybe wait for the KYB AGX shocks. I just wanna get it done right, and for a good price, like all of us.
