2012 civic LX 1.8. ways to add coolant temp sensor for aftermarket guage

Just purchased a 2012 and learned honda didnt think we needed the temp guage anymore. Would like to add one. Need to know temp sensor thread and pitch size of thermostat housing sensor, if I decide to tee off of that sensor hole. Other options are install radiator hose sensor adapter, make a plate to go between housing and head that would have a sensor hole, tee the hole so original sensor and guage sensor could be installed. Thought I would find loads of theads on this but came up dry.

Scangauge or Ultragauge. (google them)
Plugs into the OBD2 data link and displays engine data straight from the computer. My ultragauge can give more data than any average driver can use (but I'm not an average driver). Plus it can display fault codes and more.

Also there are some low cost scanner apps for phones that could do the job too.

Already purchased a digitial dakota temp guage. Just need hole to mount sensor in. Probably will just adapt housing
