2006 OEM Radio Gone Bad

I have a 2006 Civic EX 2-dr Coupe with the original radio system. It randomly changes the mode selections from AM to FM to Aux to CD, etc. It's not the steering wheel controls and it's not something spilled on any components. I've heard of others having this problem with the OEM radios and it appears they change out the radio to resolve the issue. I'd like to stay with the OEM radio rather than installing an aftermarket unit. I have found several on eBay for reasonable prices -- $40-$60 used -- warranted for 90 days. The problem is there are so many different P.N. units available none of which match mine exactly. Some are very close, so my question is can I use one of the other P.N. units in place of mine? My P.N. is 39100-SVA-A100. As long as I can still play AM/FM/CD and Sirius XM I don't care what unit I get. Thanks.

Re: 2006 OEM Radio Gone Bad

I realized your post is a few years old but maybe this can help others. See my resolution here: http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/i-c-e...y-weird-3.html You will need to open up the radio to get at the circuit board with the 6 transistors and re-solder them. Took me 2 hours from the time I removed the radio to reinstalling it.
