Re: No Audio from Radio and CD after battery jumpstart 2006 EX Cup

It says CODE?
Enter the radio code to unlock it.
5 digit code for radio, maybe 4 digits for navi.
Sticker in the owners manual stuff on a credit card sized card.
Or stuck to the side of the glovebox.
Or written on the front page of the "Service History" booklet with the owners manual stuff.

Or maybe it blew a fuse in the underhood fusebox #22 or #23? 10 amp fuse.

I already enter the code.
If i replace the 22 and 23 and still having the same problem, then what is the next step?

Thanks,

Ebi

I meant CHECK the fuses, that doesn't mean to automatically replace it.

What does the radio do?
What does the Navi do?
Does the display look normal like it should be working?
What do you see?
I can't see a darn thing from here.

For all I know from you so far, you don't have the volume turned up.
Turn up the volume?

After you put in the code it will work...if not then check fuses as mentioned..Whenever your car dies or the battery dies i should say your radio will lock..there is a DIY if you need more help.

Re: No Audio from Radio and CD after battery jumpstart 2006 EX Cup

I have similar problem. I have a 2006 Civic EX coupe. The radio was flicky in that it the sound would turn off when I hit a bump and the desplay would turn off. I just bought a 2007 Civic LX stock radio with a part number of, 39101-SNA-A020-M1. When I still the new radio, the display is great meaning it does not turn off intermintly. The CD player shows it plays CD. The Radio shows it can lock on radio frequency. Hower, I do not have sound. I check the mentioned fuses, they are both in tacked and are not blown.

The Radio that came out my Civic has the following part number: 39100-SVA-A100.

I am not sure what to pick on now. Any ideas?

EX and LX radios are a little bit different.

I did not research, but I believe that if all of the wiring will plug in then it should work.

Check speaker wiring for short to ground and damaged connectors, such as in the trunk where packages could knock a plug off of a speaker.

The Ex and Lx are different because they have different part number. Is Ex with Premium sound has a pre-amp before the radio? Meaning, does the output of the radio gets re-amplified before going to the speakers?

How about Lx models?

Re: No Audio from Radio and CD after battery jumpstart 2006 EX Cup

Sorry, I got sidetracked.

NOW I remember what I meant to reply with. Your part numbers didn't plug in to the catalog, both were invalid as typed. I needed more info to dig into the catalog and wiring diagrams, you should see why in a second.....

Then I got called to dinner by the GF. Can't miss dinner with the GF!

================================================

2 door and 4 door units are different.

2door -Clarion
4door -Alpine

EX, and LX-DX are different part numbers too.
Si adds yet another number.

That makes 5 different numbers for a 2007.

NVM........

=======================================

Your number for the 07 radio should be 39171-SNA-A02 (chassis number) in my catalog.
Alpine.
This fits a DX/LX, 4 door sedan.

You said your car is an 06 coupe EX:
Picked out 06 EX coupe, 39171-SVA-A12 is what the catalog says should be the chassis part number. Clarion.

If you are not in the USA, this could be all wrong. My catalog is only for US market cars.

======================================
Continuing.....

Wiring diagrams for 06 and 07 show:
2 door EX and SI has external amp.
(LX does not)
4 door
, DX/LX/EX does not use an amp. (Si does.)

Your 07 radio is for an LX sedan, it will not work in your EX coupe as-is.

If the 07 radio had come from another EX coupe, it would probably work.

Thank you ezone! Yes, dinner with the GF is a must. :)

Now, is it possible to hook up the 2007 LX in my 2006 Coupe? How much work will it involve to do such conversation?

Re: No Audio from Radio and CD after battery jumpstart 2006 EX Cup

By the way ezone, the part number I have shown was taken directly from the CD player's back for the 2006 Ex Coupe and the 2007 LX. I am not sure the 2007 LX was a coupe or sedan.

Problem: It's hard to see the connector pinout charts side-by-side for both radios/cars at the same time to compare. (I don't have a printer at home.)
From what I CAN see at a glance, it appears they are wired about the same for the important stuff.

IF everything on the backs of the radios are truly wired identical (wire positions), Basically you would need to bypass the amp in your coupe, probably by using jumper wires around its plug(s) to reconnect the speaker wiring. (If wire positions for the rear of the radios are not identical, there would be a whole lot more work to do.)

A good set of wiring diagrams of your own should be your next goal if you are serious about doing this as a DIY.

Catalog numbers don't necessarily have to coincide with the numbers on the actual part itself. But they are usually somewhat close.

The number you gave for the 07 radio was closest to the LX sedan part number in my catalog.
You gave
39101-SNA-A020-M1
Catalog has
39171-SNA-A02, LX sedan (picked this one, closest match)
39171-SNA-A52, EX sedan
39171-SVB-A13, Si sedan AND coupe
39171-SVA-A02, LX coupe
39171-SVA-A12, EX coupe

Damn. You caught me.
Shhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone.

Um, I know he won't be able to get the codes from the Honda radio site. He doesn't have the correct owners info to go with that used radio.

Plus, my inquiry returned almost a dozen different code possibilities. He's not out of the woods yet.
