radio upgrade fail - need advice I Installed the following in my '09 GX to replace the factory original, but when I put the volume past 50% I get horrible bass distortion. I pulled the HU out of my volvo where it drove the stock volvo speakers just fine. Do I need to be concerned with vibration or deadening? I'm inclined to think not, but I don't know. I've installed stereos before and have never had any problem like this. Any advice appreciated!! I have the same problem in front as well as rear. Since this is a GX I didn't want to bother with a heavy mod of the back deck to sink in speakers, so I went with the surface mount TSX-150's. ... but I mounted them to the plastic panel, not the steel beneath. But that doesn't sound like it's the problem. I am thinking of putting in a sub and amp to cover the bass because the rest of the range is fine, but that seems overkill, it would be great if I could just get the equipment I have sounding better. ( wish I had tested it out before installed ) but putting this in the GX would be a bit of a challenge that I'm not sure I'm ready for.
