cooling fan noise 2011 civic coupe?
 

Hey, everybody
I am new to the forum and did some digging to see if I could find some info on this but didn't find what I was looking for. My civic makes a really loud buzzing or humming sound that cuts in and out - I think it is the radiator cooling fan but I'm not sure 100%. I'm just wondering if this is normal or if something is wrong... if it's normal, is there a better fan I can swap it out with? One that's that's a bit quieter?

Spin the fan blades by hand and see that the blades spin straight, and see if it makes noise like something making contact where it shouldn't.

Thanks, budd... I'll try that and see what happens. It doesn't sound like it's making contact with anything but maybe there's some kind of defect that's making it spin irregularly.

You could use jumper wires to power up each fan motor one at a time and listen for odd noise.
Maybe that would prove one has an issue.... or eliminate the fans entirely.
