2006 civic coupe lx dashboard problems 4 Attachment(s) So i purchased this car and the speedo odometer, rpm's and heat/cold sensor do not work. the guy said he took the car up to mammoth and had to put on tire chains. the tire chains tore wires under the hood and the dash no longer works. anyone know what wires these are? is it cheap to replace? the wires can be seen next to the front right side wheel Attachment 88853 Attachment 88854 Attachment 88855 Attachment 88856 Sorry these images are upside down for some reason |
Re: 2006 civic coupe lx dashboard problems If you can just try to cut out the damaged areas of the wires and solder in bridging segments. |
Re: 2006 civic coupe lx dashboard problems anyone know what wires these are? is it cheap to replace? Replacing the damaged wiring harness might sound simple......until you discover how much of the car has to come apart to replace it. That little harness may wrap around both front wheels, up to the front bumper and lights, and go all the way through the firewall and into the dashboard, meaning you might have to remove the dash to reach it all. BTDT. Not fun. I'd probably try to splice and repair the damaged wiring, assuming it isn't corroded so bad it needs huge amounts of wire replaced. If repaired, it would have to be sealed really well to avoid future problems from exposure to the elements (water/salt). But I like wiring work....many others do not. Also, the plastic inner fender liner or shield is missing. |
