salvage title mystery I posted this in the legal forum but I am not sure if enough people will look at it over there. Please delete this thread if it doesn't fit here at all hey guys I have a question regarding salvage titles is it possible for a car to get a salvage title because it had a lien from a loan, the person defaulted on the loan, and the bank had to liquidate the asset somehow? I bought a 2010 civic ex some time ago, no mechanical or esthetical issues at all, very few miles on it..I absolutely love it...but it got a salvage title from Texas. it also has a loan/lien brand according to autocheck, but autocheck also says it had 0 accidents reported. the case seems really unusual to me..but I don't know enough about the system. your help is much appreciated. |
Re: salvage title mystery I can't answer your exact question but I think the definition of Salvage titles is different for each state. Probably best to call local dmv. |
Re: salvage title mystery a "salvage" title normally is only issued to a vehicle that has been "written off" by an insurance company for damages, meaning the damages were more expensive to fix then the car is worth, |
Re: salvage title mystery Some states will salvage title your car if it is stolen, no crash involved. Flood car? |
Re: salvage title mystery Thanks for the replies guys. There are no flood damage brands...and no visible trace of flood damage. No theft reports...no accident reports....just a loan brand and a salvage title brand from texas |
