2006 Honda Civic - wiper arm removal

My 2006 Honda Civic has a bad wiper motor. I have the service manual on how to remove the assembly, have a new motor on hand. However I cannot figure out how to get the wiper arms off the car. I pulled off the cover over the posts and then removed the nut. At this point the arm should just pull off but it doesn't. It acts like it's frozen in place some how. I don't know if it's press fitted in there or if there's a set screw some where that's still holding it in place. I pulled fairly hard, to where I was able to move the car around. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Craig

It is likely seized from being in place so long. You could try to work in some liquid lube (WD-40/ PB Blaster) and let it set a bit and try it again.

Thanks, I'll try that after work.

The wiper arms are difficult to remove on most of the newer Hondas as well. Mine is a 2012 Civic. I had to buy a wiper arm puller from Princess Auto.....was very difficult to get it to fit between the wiper and the cowling but once it did, the rest was easy. These wiper arms are forced on very hard at the factories. WD40 won't make a difference. But watch out that you don't crack the windshield with the tools!:sweet:
