5th gen EX Climate control problems

I have a 1994 civic EX. Every so often, (it could be hours, days, or minutes.) all of my climate control switches stop working, ergo, I have no defrost, A/C etc. But, mysteriously, some time later, (again could be hours minutes days etc.) all the switches come back on and it starts working again. This hadn't been a problem, but without defrost in the winter my car is basically useless. Also, the climate control unit doesn't light up when I turn my lights on. I don't think the two are related. Anyone have any idea what could be going on?

Regular preventive maintenance is probably the single thing you can do as a car owner to keep your ride happy and save money on repairs in the future. However, not everyone agrees on what preventive maintenance is, what you should do, and when you should do it. Let's clear that up, and give you some tips that'll apply to any vehicle.
