Hello. I am relatively new to servicing my car. I have a 1990 LX with 230k miles. I have done simple things like change oil, brake pads, and most recently my oxygen sensor. I recently upgraded my stock speakers.

my head unit is a sony that puts out 17w rms x 4.

I know that more expensive usually means better but i am just looking for better sound. nothing show stopping. My question is whether i would need to go about changing "the big 3" to a higher gauge and if my stock alternator can handle this. stock puts out 60 amps. I plan on getting a 4 gauge amp kit which should be plenty for this setup. also if there are any other amps that you know of that are comparable in price, or you think a 2 channel running the back would be good enough, any suggestions would be welcome. You shouldn't need to upgrade the alternator or get a ground kit. You won't be pushing to much power. I have a 250w sub and don't have any problems. Are you going to use the 4 channel amp to power the door/rear speakers? A sub is also a nice addition if you like some bass. If you do add a sub then your going to want more power to the front speakers to balance out the bass.

I was planning on just powering the 4 speakers for now, but i got the 4 channel amp so in the future i could add a sub and power the back to speakers. that amp has 150w when you bridge 2 channels. not very powerful but would add a little kick if i got a sub. Thanks for the reply. I was just making sure everything would be ok before i actually bought the amp.

Hi, I have a Honda Civic 2003 but I can not use the radio as the battery is changed and asks me for a lock code. will you guys can help me get the serial code radio is U2426 L2407, thank you very much in advance.

Hey guys! I don't how to post a thread so i'll post here:
First and foremost, I do not know much about cars, and my car is a honda civic 2004 sedan. My car broke down during the winter storm last friday and just abruptly shut off in the middle of the street. It was towed to the nearest autoshop, and when inspected a couple days later, several mechanics said it was a timing belt problem. HOWEVER, my father replaced the timing belt via a dealership about 2 years ago and they have records of it on their computer. The dealership stated that although they replaced the belt, they may have not replaced the tensioner of the belt and that we would still need to pay. Additionally, my father is telling me that it is better off getting a new car instead, as the repair and labor is worth more than the car itself. What should i do? A friend from pep boys said that i may want to look into buying a new engine online for cheap, and that pep boys would repair for far less. Please help! I do not know what to do and i greatly miss my car
