Are my wires crossed???
 

hey guys this is my first post here, while searching around since I bought my civic two months ago. i installed my old hu into this car and now my taillights and interior lights (by hvac controls) don't work. While connecting hareness I attached both dimmer and illumination wires together and I think that caused the issue I am having now. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks

The harness from a headunit wouldn't tie into the dimmer/illuminator and the taillights as far as I know. Take it to a shop and let them take a look at it. Anyone else on here know more about it than I do. I mean, when I hooked up both of the 2 aftermarket headunits I put in my EM2 all I did was match up the colors. It's pretty straight forward.

What year Civic ??

Take the illumination leads connections loose. (also separate them)

if you combined them you probably blew the fuse on both units. your sending an outbound current into an outbound current line for both connections. its like this

check fuses under the steering column AND the engine bay.
