Can a 2.0 farad capasitor supply both amps? Im getting a Rockford Fosgate power T600 amp for my 4 full range speakers and a decent sub amp. According to this link http://www.crutchfield.com/learningc...rs_wiring.html the capasitor is only supplying the sub amp. The RF amp will be 100 rms x 4 at 4 ohms a total of 400rms and 600 watts total. Seems to me that the RF amp will need a capasitor. Will one do the job for both amps? |
Re: Can a 2.0 farad capasitor supply both amps? You wont really need the cap for the 4 channel. You really will only need to run it to the sub amp. The 4 channel doesnt draw enough power to cause any problems. |
Re: Can a 2.0 farad capasitor supply both amps? see how all those red wires are connected together? that means they all share the cap. a cap isn't connected to any single amp. it's in parallel to everything in the whole car. so even your headlights can draw power from it if needed. and caps are just band-aids for needed a higher output alternator. |
Re: Can a 2.0 farad capasitor supply both amps? youll be good with 2 farad at 4 X 100 RMS |
Re: Can a 2.0 farad capasitor supply both amps? Thanx electric :) |
Re: Can a 2.0 farad capasitor supply both amps? hey i have a cap question sorry to hijack the thread but it seems like this one is almost over Ive been having problems with my amp lately. It seems like any time i have my subs cranked my amp just shuts off after a few min, then after a few starts back up again and the cycle starts all over again. Its drivin me nuts. Its gettin pretty bad. Do you think a cap will fix it or not? |
