pressing in wheel bearing I have a 2000 Civic Cx, and I'm about to do my front wheel bearings. I bought this bearing -> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have a shop press and assorted bearing adapters. I am confused, because the inner race stick out 2mm further than the outer race. The diagram in my manual shows an adapter the same diameter as the outer race pressing the bearing in, and the inner races are flush. Is it OK to press in on those inner races? Either that, or I have to find a socket-like object to press it in by only contacting the outer race. |
Re: pressing in wheel bearing You can press the center part out seperate from the outer race but you will need a socket or press kit to remove the outer part. I used a Harbor Freight bearing press kit. You could use a socket if you have one large enough. |
