Messed up rims, fixable? As title says I messed up my rims and was wondering if they can be restored decently (price+condition) or should I just buy new ones? Front: http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/8504/perednee.jpg Rear: http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/3504/zadnee.jpg Do you guys think it'll be safe to drive with either of them like that? (I mean permanently, not just to autoshop or something) |
Re: Messed up rims, fixable? Aluminum wheels with any kind of damage around the bead area are considered unsafe and should be replaced As soon as possible. |
Re: Messed up rims, fixable? wow you messed those up real good lol the second one appears to be fine however the first one with a chip missing will probably result in a slow leak especially if you hit a pothole and the jagged edges stab the tire and pop it and definitely check for bends because those will result in slow leaks as well if they egged a little |
Re: Messed up rims, fixable? Discount/America's Tire does wheel repair. $100 - 125 a rim. |
Re: Messed up rims, fixable? I wudnt even bother getting them re-done. You can just buy them as new replicas or OEM reconditioned for about $100. I bought mine from this site, give them a call they were extremely helpful, not to mention they had the best price. http://www.theautopartsshop.com/whee...63899u20n.html Hope this helps |

Re: Messed up rims, fixable? For cheap OEM wheels like that, I agree with everyone that you should just buy used ones. The cost of repair will cost as much as a replacement pair. Or this could be your chance to upgrade. :D |
