What tire size would reduce scraping?

I just got an 04 civic coupe and it has stock 15" rims and tires. I am looking to get 17" rims and tires but I dont want them to scrape on the fender. What size tires should I get? I have heard that 205/45 17s would work, but I want to make sure. Also, if I go with 16" rims what tire size should I use? Finally, what offset do I need on the rims? Thanks for the help.

Re: What tire size would reduce scraping?

I had no issues when I was running with 215/45-17s on my 02 ex coupe.. Issues started happening when I was forced to put all season tires on my car, and the only size was 205/50-17. Even then, the only rubbing issues I had was my front fender linings getting eaten up..

I think our civics can handle anything between a +35 to +44 offset or something like that.
