Tire Size Right now guy's I have 185/65/R15 on my 2003 Honda Civic SI and since winter is approaching I would like to put winter tires on should I stick to the size I have or would it be better to go to something like 195/60/R15.. Thanks for your help :-) |
Re: Tire Size wish i could help you, but we dont have winters here...pretty much run the same tires all year |
Re: Tire Size I think you will get pretty decent grip with either of those two sizes as long as you've got good treads. It's really when you start stepping up to plus sizes and go low profile performance tires that you will have a decline in grip in the snow. For example, I'm running 215/45/17's on my 04 lx coupe right now, but when the snow hits I'll put my stock steel wheels with 195/60/15's back on for better traction. Not that this really pertains to your question, but here is a nice tool to use when looking into which tires to buy. Hopefully you will find it as helpful as I do. http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs...&text1=&text2= |
Re: Tire Size Could I also go with 205/65/R15...... |
Re: Tire Size Sure, probably throw off the speedometer a bit more. It would show slower then you are really going the bigger the tire you get. |
Re: Tire Size Usually people go with skinnier tires in the snow so it cuts through it instead of riding on top of it. |
Re: Tire Size i have a 2008 honda civic and i'm looking to purchase 17" rims, was wondering what size tires and what would be a cheap, but good coice for tires. im spending about 400 on the set of rims, and i'd like to spend half as much on tires or so. |
Re: Tire Size For decent tires, they should be more than 1/2 the price of your set of rims. Use the tire calculator to determine the proper size of tire you need. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html |
Re: Tire Size even not so decent tires for 17's on a civic are gonna be about 100 bucks apiece not including mounting and balancing. they gonna have to be fairly low pro else theyll rub like hell. the bfg g-force are a decent tire and they have good weather and wear ratings for a good price |
Cheap wholesale switchblade knives $3.10 for an automatic knife with free shipping, now thats cheap http://www.liangdianup.com/automatic_1.htm how about the buck 110 auto? Do they still make that thing here in the states? I think they were being converted into autos out west. Nice knife, these guys also have a copy of a Buck 110 auto. |
Re: Tire Size i wish i knew more bout tires. I have a 2008 honda civic dx coupe. right now the tires are stalked with 195/6515. is 225/17" with low pros to much for my car? I want to fill up my wells. I dont want to order them and find out that when i get those 17" there is gonna be so much space above them its gonna look like i lifted my car. this is confusing me. or should I go with 18"? now is either one gonna rub? another thing is I want them wider so that my tire/wheel levels out on the side of my car. I have p195 and to jump to p225's I just dont kno how wide that really is. PPLLLZZ HHEELLPPPP i am ordering these next week |
Re: Tire Size hey man are 17" to much for my 08 civic coupe? i want low pros with it. hit me back let me kno |
Re: Tire Size 17" might be pushing the limit. I think it my be doable though. |
