215/40/18 Rubbing Issues I got a set of 18" x 7.5 Konig Unknowns on my 04 Vic. I had rubbing issues on my rear tires so I adjusted the camber to be -1.5 and also rolled the fenders for about 100 bucks. paint started chipping but ill get that repainted when i get my front bumper repainted. Anyway I got 215/40/18 tires, and even after adjusting the camber and rolling the rear fenders once in a while my tires might rub on the screw which holds the bumper in. Anyone got any ideas or know if 205/40/18 toyo proxys fit 18" x7.5 rims? might just buy some 205's n rotate my tires bc my front tires are damaged. any ideas? thanks |

Re: 215/40/18 Rubbing Issues Dude. I'm not sure, those babies are just too big for our cars. How much excess is there on the screw for the bumper? Can you cut it down at all? |
Re: 215/40/18 Rubbing Issues i had this same exact problem with the same exact tire size. I did what you did and still had that rubbing issue with that stupid screw. what i did was basically just get a new screw that did not have that BIG washer on it. why get new tires? just get a smaller screw without that big washer on it. That's all i did and i never had a rubbing issue ever again. once i need new tires though, i'm going to go 205 instead of 215s. |
Re: 215/40/18 Rubbing Issues i have perfect alignment though, i didn't do negative camber, how low are you? |
Re: 215/40/18 Rubbing Issues im on neuspeed sports 1.75 in the front and 1.5 in the back but the back is actually still lower then the front bc of my subs in the back....i do need new tires in the front so might just put the 215's i have in the back in the front and put 205s in the back just dont know if they will fit the 18 x 7.5 rims...but ill deff see if i can find a another screw for now... |
Re: 215/40/18 Rubbing Issues anyone know if 205/40/18s fit 18 x 7.5 rims?? |
Re: 215/40/18 Rubbing Issues yes they will. They will just be a LITTTLE stretched, which is what i'm going to do with my 17s. tire stretch looks sexy to me. yes it will fit |
