servicing breaks????

I drive and '02 civic, when you take your care to honda for a type B service and they do the oil change and service the breaks what do they do extactly because I want to do it myself. It might have to something with them sanding or resurfacing the pad to remove any excess rotor material that may be lodged in it.......

Thanks

Re: servicing breaks????

they dont sand pads. a layer of pad on the rotor is what you want. It isnt something to remove. At the most, they look at the pad life and adjust the emergency brake cable. If it needs a brake job, then replace pads and rotors
