17in vs. 18in wheels

OK...I'm about to purchase a new 07 si coupe and i was thinking about whether to get the 17in. HFP wheels or the 18in. HFP wheels. I've heard that the 17in. is better for performance, but how much better. I'm just not sure if I want the 18's cuz they fill out better or the 17's cuz they perform better. What are yall's thoughts on this?

rims dont do anything for performance..

tires do.

I'd check the weight of the rims too. I myself prefer 17's over 18's.
