Should I buy this 2004 for my daughter? I'm all set to but this 2004 LX for my daughter. 110k miles. $3900. Has a new timing chain, head gasket, water pump, radiator, and thermostat. New tires. Very clean inside and out. Never hit, no damage. Rear passenger window doesn't work. Anything I need to check before I buy? [First Post. Re: Should I buy this 2004 for my daughter? That’s a premium price, basically more than twice it’s book value Receipts for all that work? Who multipoint inspected it on a lift, and how’s the underbody? Are the emissions monitors all rdy on a basic OBD reader? Is the seller providing a copy of the CarFax report. Google the VIN number to see what shows up? Dead rear windows are very common, wireharness fails at door jamb or motor, certainly not a deal breaker but at premium price that should have been fixed by the seller.. As long as you can afford a head gasket / transmission replacement and everything else above was good she likely would get a lot of use from it. Can’t say I would recommend any car without side SRS anymore which would be just a little bit newer, but amazingly more safe for your child in a crash. |

Kelly Blue Book has it at 2900 to 4564, depending on condition. Are you talking about trade-in price? This one is excellent except for the stuck window. I've been looking at Craigslist for weeks, and the only Civics under 3500 have 150k + miles on them, and they're rough. |

Where are you getting your pricing? KBB is $3741. Range is 2900 to 4764 depending on condition. This one is excellent except for the window. I live in Canada, so I converted to Canadian $ and kms. They are asking $5216 for a car with 177,000kms I paid $2700 for an '05 car with 215,000 kms that was manual, fully loaded besides leather, tinted, with a set of good snow tires on rims. It only needed a wheel bearing. And was as clean as that car My current car I paid $3500 for an '05 with 78,000kms. It's a more basic car, it only has a/c and and automatic. It came with snow tires as well. Needed nothing for safety. So in my opinion I'd pay $2500-$3000 Canadian, which would be like $1800-$2200 in Yankee Doodle money. |

It’s not a steal of a price but within reason. Around here if you want to pay under $2500 for a Civic it is going to be old, rough and have a lot of miles. |
