My engine on a 93 DX is smoking alot. what could the problems be? and what would it involve replacing? Lastly, how much would this cost me (in parts),

Thanks

Re: Engine smoking

what colour of smoke? white smoke? your burning oil... if i were you get a job that pays well or rob a bank or something because that baby is better off with an engine swap... by the way... you don't have to post twice to change a few words in your posts... there's an edit button for that ;)

Re: Engine smoking

is the smoke coming from under the hood or from the exhaust if oil was spilled on block this could explain smoke from under hood

Re: Engine smoking

could just be overheating if the smoke is white from under the hood. check to see for any spills or fluids on the block or any other parts under the hood. If it is smoking from the exhaust that could mean something as simple as you cat. going out or you could have serious problems in the motor.

Re: Engine smoking

color of smoke

white=water leaking into cylinder(if this happens your oil will probably look like chocolate milk, and if thats the case you wither got a bad head gasket or a crack int he block)
blue/gray= oil burnin(usually means rings are shot or possibly something worse)
black= running rich fuel mixture(need to adjust injectors, fuel pump possibly running wrong, or bad main fuel relay located under the dash by fuse box)
