'98 Honda Civic EX questions

Hi, everyone.

I recently bought a '98 Honda Civic EX with a manual transmission and have been reading up online about the many way to increase the horsepower and general performance of my engine.

I was wondering if I could get some help from you guys by explaining to me a few things..

First, could you list all of the possible ways to increase the performance/horsepower of my car (Besides Turbo/Supercharging) that you can think of, and give an estimate to how much power it would increase and a price range of the given item.

Second, I would like to know how I can get my car to have a nice, deep powerful sound to it. I have been looking online and a few people say that once I increase the engines performance through intakes/exhaust/fuel injectors/etc I won't need to buy a special exhaust, made for sounding good. One example of the type of sound I am talking about is the one the Greddy Ti-C puts out.

Thanks in advance for everyone that can help me, or took the time to read this [:

Basic bolt ons, intake, header, and exhaust. This will make a difference, but you won't make alot of power.

Also, for a deep sounding exhaust I bought a magnaflow axle back, and straight piped the resignator. This was loud, but it was very deep sounding, and only cost me 30$ (pipe was from a totaled civic)
