97 LX with 154k - a Good First Civic? Hey all, I'm brand new to all this. I'm in college in Connecticut and need a car that can get me home and back (to VT), as well as just around town, and have been thinking a Civic could be a good move: low cost of ownership, easy to play with, readily available parts - am I missing anything? I found a 97 LX with 154k on it on Craigslist and wanted to know your guys' thoughts on it. As a beginner to cars, (I've worked a good bit on motorbikes), and Honda's in particular, I don't know what to be looking for, but would love to learn. What are your thoughts on this particular car? Anything I should keep an eye out for if I test drive it? I'm obviously trying to keep it within a fairly tight budget, but if you have any other recommendations, I'd love to hear them, too. Thanks so much. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. ~Jonas :th_hump: |
Re: 97 LX with 154k - a Good First Civic? Looks beat up but not so bad otherwise for the age. Besides test-driving it, you're gonna want a history report and an approximate date when the timing belt was replaced. The more detailed the service record, the better. |
