Cupholder alternative?

Hi,
I am very frustrated with the cupholder situation in my 99 Civic Ex coupe...they are the stock ones, with the left one smaller than the right one. Even at that, no drinks ever stay upright when I turn, so the cupholders are then useless since my drinks spill everywhere. I have heard there are alternatives....such as the one where you put the pop out holders that fit in a single din slot....do those actually work? The link below is one that I found. If those are ineffective, any other ideas than holding the drink between my legs or putting it between the seat and console?

I haven't ever seen it in an EK, but I have seen a mod using a Ford taurus' cup holder and fitting into the single DIN spot of an EG.

I have grown accustom to holding the drink between shifts and during turns, or just getting a drink with a cap and setting it on my pass. seat.

you may want to look into a "drink caddy" that sits on the passenger seat and fits several beverages, yet its heavy enough not to move or flip over when turning. you could put it on the floor too if there is someone sitting in the seat. dont get the cheap plastic ones tho, they wont work.

Buckeyeguy,

Did you ever find a suitable product? I have the same problem and yesterday was the last spilled drink (dangerous grab) I could take. I swung by an auto store, but nothing suited me.

I too want to adapt or improve the cup holder that comes stock. Otherwise, the only thing I can see working for me is the cup holder basket that attaches to the window and I'm loath to buy one of those.

Hope you found something. If not, has anyone else figured anything out besides holding the drink during turns?
