Shift Rod? Countershaft? This weekend I was under my car installing a short throw shifter so I took a look at what was causing an annoying rattle. The rod that connects the shifter to the transmission has some play at the transmission end of it. This I believe then wiggles due to engine vibration and because of the leverage follows through into the interior via the shifter. So I hope that answered the question of what it can be. WHAT I NEED IS: What is that rods name and what are the bushings names? Where can I buy them? I figure I can do it myself and save $200 or so from the shop. Anyone know? When I look up 'shift rod' I tend to bring up the shifters. I think it might be called a 'countershaft' but I can't seem to find any for sale. Let me know if you know what it is called or where I can buy one. Thank you. |
