What to look for- Hi Guys, Looking at a 2003 Civic, 75k miles, auto, any particular problems on this model (EX)? Also belt or chain at 100k miles and approx cost? Thanks for any input, etech99:vtec: |
Re: What to look for- Obtain service and maintenance records from the seller. Get a prepurchase inspection done before buying Timing belt The owners manual says "Replace timing belt, inspect auto-tensioner, and water pump ... Every 110,000miles (176,000 km) or 7 years" Hybrid and SI both use a chain, not a timing belt. |

Re: What to look for- Make sure your tranny shifts properly. There arent TOO many problems with these cars. Other then maintanance just check that tranny its the only known MAJOR problem on these cars. I say go for a 2004-2005 Virtually all tranny problems are gone by those two years. However 2003 could of been the cut off year, maybe someone else knows better then me. |
