Engine Coolant boiling out of reservoir before engine overheats?!?!?!

I have a 2001 honda civic, it has a 2002 civic engine.
I have replaced the thermostat and gasket, fan switch and coolant temp sensor. i recently replaced water pump and timing chain. all parts used were either Duralast or felpro for gasket material.

When i crank the engine the car runs just fine, about 10-15 mins later when the car reaches running temp :vtec: you also hear the water in the reservoir boiling.

FAQ: are the fans working properly, Yes.
is the thermostat turned the correct way, Yes.
What are you using for coolant, Concentrate and distilled water.
Are you sure its boiling and not bubbling, Positive says the burn under my chin from the overflow cap bursting off and boiling hot water following. plus there are no other
symptoms of a blown head gasket, no white smoke from exhaust and no milky oil.

ps. i am replacing the rad cap very soon.:vtec::vtec::vtec:

Please help this is becoming very nerve racking, if it is not the rad cap, what else could it be?

How could it possibly be a head gasket with no symptoms of a blown headgasket??

That is the main symptom of blown HG - "you also hear the water in the reservoir boiling at normal running temperature"

Could it only do one but not the others?
Thats just not what i have ever seen, normally the head gasket goes and white smoke billows from exhaust, milky white oil, and "bubbling" not boiling by loss of pressure from the blown head gasket.

These are all latest symptoms - oil mixed with coolant, smoke, etc. But it all starts with boiling coolant at normal temperature. Gases escape from cylinder into the cooling system, that's what it is. Considering the age of your civic, HG is due to fail.
You can change HG yourself, if you have minimum tools and a bit of experience.

Do coolant-gas test to make sure.

1 If your engine was overheated a few times, most likely you will need to resurface the head.
2 When you unbolt the head, go by pattern, otherwise you might have to resurface the head.
3 Use dynowrench to bolt it back up. I can do it without dynowrench, but won't recommend.

rather, use the pressure test described in the videos on the first post in the thread linked above
