wheel fitment has my head spinning!!! Hello all, I'm looking to put wheels on an 01EX. I'm not interested in lowering the car... yet. Mainly because I want to put the stock wheels back on for the winter season, and lack of funds. Baby steps. So the question I have is how big can I go (diameter and width) without running into rubbing problems? I like the look of the stock set-ups on the WRX's. So that's the look I'm striving for, filling up the wheel well. The tire fitment guide post has great info, but just not answering the questions I have. Thanks in advance for any help. |
Re: wheel fitment has my head spinning!!! If you want to fill up the wheel well then you need to lower the car. Going to a larger diameter wheel means going to a smaller sidewall tire so your overall wheel diameter does not change (this throws off your speedo). Really just lowering the car on stock wheels will fill the wheel well and look great. Example: http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/at...postid=1324491 |

I'm looking at a used set that I'm having a hard time passing on, but they are 215/45zr/17. The width has me waffling on the purchase. |

I have the same exact car, color and everything! |
Re: wheel fitment has my head spinning!!! 1 Attachment(s) 17" wheels lowered on Tein street advance coil overs. No rubbing at all. I don't remember the tire dimensions but can post it later if it helps. |
Re: wheel fitment has my head spinning!!! To go along with that, it seems the highest offset I've seen fit the "stock" fender/wheel wells (without having to roll them, and @ 0-degrees front/rear camber) is 40mm. Any higher and I think you might rub. FYI. |
