How to make a Cam Lock Tool from Harbor Freight's Serpentine Belt Kit 66344 I needed a cam lock tool to work on a V6 Avalon soon and discovered that the cheap ones sell for just under $70 on Amazon. When I read the reviews I learned that everyone that worked on the V6 Yota engine complained that the tool bent because it was aluminum and not strong enough. I was able to make mine for under $20. It works on my Honda, as demonstrated in the video, and I will find out if it works on the Yota. I hope this helps others. I am quite proud of what I made and I have not found anyone else on YouTube or Google to have created this tool from Harbor Freight's existing tool. I am assuming I am the first. |

You can see how hard this guy struggles with the tool and a long breaker bar. The bolt on my D series head is a 12mm. The Yota is a 17mm which can and does take more torque. Okay, this video was supposed to start at the 18min 26 second mark. Since it didn't, start it on that point for the tool. |

These camshaft pulleys require 92 ft lbs of torque after installation. I love it when a plan comes together. |
