LCAs won't go back in

i'm in the process of replacing the LCA bushings, I removed the LCAs and got the bushings pressed at a machine shop and now i'm trying to put them back in but somehow the compliance bushings are not going back in into subframe bracket :hithead:; new bushings are oem so should be perfect fit. my next step will be to drop the subframe to get them to fit in since jacking up on the knuckle isn't helping; any idea ?

im a bit confused by this comment,

is the knuckle and balljoint already installed? they shouldnt be,

install the LCA into the subframe FIRST, then you install the knuckle and connect the balljoint to the LCA

I got the passenger side in.
On the driver side, I put the two bushings into the subframe bracket but the ball joint is too far to go in, somehow the axel moved outward and the inside boot is fully stretched, it is still locked into the transmission but it extended, any idea how to push the axle back in to align the ball joint ?

You pulled the CV joint apart. You have to put it back together. There is a better pic of the CV joint somewhere on this forum.

Re: LCAs won't go back in

thanks man, I finally got it. the axel was half way out and still turning so I removed the strut-kuckle bolts, twisted the knuckle to fit the ball joint into the control arm, tighten the castle nut then jack the control arm up then hammer on the knuckle to get it seated and the axle went straight back in
