Starter motor having a hard time spinning the flywheel?

I think my starter motor is having a hard time spinning the flywheel because my car wont start. I hear it click so i Know the starter is working. It cranks too but it cranks really slow and it wont start. I tried jumping the car and it seems to crank a little better with the jumpers help but it still wont spin fast enough to get the car started. Could it be a problem with the flywheel? I havnt changd my transmission fluid in a while its been like a year and a half. Could that give trouble spinning the flywheel? its manual car btw

Starter, battery, cables, connections, grounds. And make sure there is a crank signal that makes it from the ignition switch all the way to the starter.

Does the engine spin with a wrench? (Engine not locked up?)

The battery seems to be dying when i try to crank it. the lights are dimming but i have a suspicion that the starter is having a hard time spinning the flywheel which is causing the battery to use excessive amounts of energy causing it to drain. i tried helping my battery with a fully charged battery jumper and i can tell it gave it a little bit of kick in energy but it still wont crank. for example with my battery alone i dont even hear my engine cranking. all i hear is clicking but when i try to help with with a jumper it starts to crank really really slow but it will fail

No.

With a socket wrench on the crank pulley.

You are describing what sounds to me like a dead/bad battery.

EDIT: An ammeter and voltmeter could tell you if the starter is drawing excess current. And allow you to diagnose more.

How is it a dead battery though? I used a fully charged portable jumper and it still wont crank all the way

Jumper cables can make some real iffy connections sometimes, I suggest you drop in a known good battery.

What were you trying to jump start it with? Did it start that car OK?
Will that battery hook up in your car?

Nope its not the batter. I put in my toyota siennas huge battery on my civic. Tried cranking it up, it started to crank really really slow and the starter motor started to iff out smoke and it smelled really bad. car didnt start

Smoke? If you can turn the engine over by hand (wrench), then it sounds like the starter shot craps.

As said before, An ammeter and voltmeter could tell you if the starter is drawing excess current. And allow you to diagnose more.
