Re: help with removing CV join/axle i dont think this matters but.... yes, i have taken off/loosen the lower ball joint. |
Re: help with removing CV join/axle Easy cheesy man, you need a hub puller or slide hammer. That will not pull off, esp if you've never taken it off before. Go to Autozone they rent both these tools. AND dont Big ****ing Hammer it youll bend the shit out of the hub. |
Re: help with removing CV join/axle Oh and I always go for the FWD hub puller its much easier. Bolts onto the hub wheel studs and a center screw you crank down on the head of the CV joint which is the piece sticking through that hole in the hub. The slide hammer works nice too but not as easy... |
Re: help with removing CV join/axle so if i rent the hub puller, i dont need the slide hammer? should i jsut rent both? |
Re: help with removing CV join/axle what about when i wanna press the hub back in? is there a tool for that or what do i do? |
Re: help with removing CV join/axle You only need one or the other. Go with the FWD hub puller. You don't need anything to press it back in, the axle nut will do that for you, you just crank it on. |
