Transmission question Is it common in an 04' civic lx sedan to have a loud clicking noise when going in and out of gear sometimes? it's an automatic transmission and it seems like every once in a while it's really harsh pulling in and out of park etc... It doesn't seem right but i got it checked out and other than a transmission fluid change everything was reported fine. I'm not talking about going from 1st to 2nd to 3rd or anything just pulling it from park to drive or vise versa. |
Re: Transmission question its most likely because you sometimes park on a incline and it rolls back onto the trans-axle which is extremely bad for your transmission . you should always apply the hand brake before you take your foot off the pedal brake while in park especially on any hill or incline. |
Re: Transmission question i've actually only heard it while on flat ground. i could understand the incline but my drive way is completely flat and i don't live on an incline so when i park in the street it's completely flat. |
Re: Transmission question that may be but the car mite lurch forward when you let the brake go in park. try setting the hand brake like i suggested and see if it still happens. |
Re: Transmission question the check engine light came on last night while i was drivin so i just took it in today. We'll see what happens |
