Locked keys in car

So my mom-in-law came up today and she ended up locking her keys in her CR-V. We have a 2002 Civic LX with identical locking mechanism. I'm trying to get into it without having to call the locksmith. I managed to wedge open the door enough to get a wire hanger in, but with the rounded unlock lever, it's near impossible to pull up on. Anyone have a trick to getting it? Or another way? Sure sucks. And getting dark. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That sucks. Most people that do this end up bending their door and it never closes properly after that :( Dunno what the CRV door lock looks like but i'd make a little circle at the end of the wire and just keep at it until it opens

use the wire hanger to lift up the power lock switch on the door panel instead
